Guy Matthews: Sarasin & Partners – Chief Operating & Financial Officer, and Chairman, FSA Smaller Businesses Practitioner Panel

Guy Matthews is Chief Operating & Financial Officer, and Partner of the Sarasin & Partners LLP and Chief Executive Officer of Sarasin Investment Funds. He has been an ex-officio member of the Practitioner Panel since November 2011, due to his Chairmanship of the FSA Smaller Businesses Practitioner Panel.

Sarasin & Partners is an Asset Management Company for Ultra High Net Worth, Charity and Institutional clients. The Partnership is 40% owned by the senior management and 60% owned by Bank Sarasin & Co AG – one of the oldest Private Swiss Banks. Sarasin has in excess of £12bn assets under management, and Sarasin Investment Funds Limited is an Authorised Corporate Director (ACD) and manages UCITS, NURS and Common Investment Funds.

Guy trained and qualified as a chartered accountant with Smith & Williamson, where he specialised in financial service company audits and regulatory advice. During his training, he also spent a year on secondment at the Investment Management Regulatory Organisation (IMRO).
