Mark Rothery
Chief Executive, Ancient Order of Foresters Friendly Society
Career/Employment History
Mark is CEO of the Foresters Friendly Society. He has worked for the Foresters since March 1991 in a variety of roles including Internal Audit Manager, Company Secretary and Compliance Officer. In recent years the Society has gone through significant reorganisation as well as acquiring two other friendly societies. This level of activity within a smaller firm at the same time as the arrival of the FSA leaves Mark well placed to be aware of the impact of regulation on smaller firms.
Prior to joining the Society, Mark worked at the Head Office of Britannic Assurance in Birmingham for eleven years.
Mark served as director of the Association of Friendly Societies (AFS) from 1999 until 2005 when he served a year as President. He is a former director of the Friendly Societies Protection Scheme.
Education/Professional Background
Mark was educated at Kings Norton Grammar School for Boys in Birmingham.
